(Not available 2026)<br \/>\n<strong>Ken<\/strong>\u2014(J X E) X Chinese hybrid.\u00a0 A seedling of either Precoce Migoule or Bouche de Betizac, crossed with unknown Chinese cultivar. This seedling is very vigorous and fast growing . It is a reliable, very heavy bearer of extra-large Chinese type nuts. Mike was selected and developed at Red Fern Farm.<br \/>\n<strong>Mossbarger<\/strong>\u2014Large nuts, heavy bearing, precocious, extra cold-hardy.<br \/>\n<strong>Peach<\/strong>\u2014O<span style=\"color: #000000;\">ne of Greg Millers&#8217; (president of the Chestnut Growers of America and founder of Empire Chestnuts) very best selections. It is a reliable bearer of extra-large nuts. This is one of the few varieties that never over-bears. The nuts are fuzzy like a peach, thus the name. (Not available 2026)<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Qing<\/strong>\u2014<span style=\"color: #000000;\">(pronounced \u201cching\u201d) is currently the standard for comparison among Chinese chestnuts. It produces an extra-large nut with a dark mahogany color, an unusually glossy luster, and exceptional flavor and keeping qualities. Cold hardy to at least -30\u00b0F, zone 5a.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>Qingsu<\/strong>\u2014Seedling of Qing X Auburn Super, Extremely heavy bearing, large-extra-large nuts. Although it is a complex hybrid, its characteristics are very Chinese-like, and its offspring are consistently Chinese-like and of reliable quality.
