We are offering persimmon seed via our website for shipping as well as you-pick<\/a>\u00a0for 2025.<\/p>\n

You-pick<\/strong>: We allow people interested in harvesting for seed to come to our farm to harvest. Maps\u00a0 will be provided. You are allowed to gather fruit from any tree.\u00a0 \u00a0Call 319-729-5905 or email kathy@redfernfarm.com to schedule a harvest date. We do allow primitive camping in our groves to facilitate multiple days of harvest when you make purchases totaling $50\/day or more.<\/p>\n

Web site<\/strong>: Some varieties below will be sold by the pound, 1\/4 pound, ounce or individual seed depending on quantities available. We will shift weight classes around to try to meet demand. There are around 45 to 55 seeds\/ounce and 720 to 880 seeds to a pound.<\/p>\n

Mixed seed<\/strong>:\u00a0 (Sold out as of 11\/21\/25) <\/em>A mix of mostly\u00a0 ‘Osage’, ‘Yates’ and ‘H69A’ .\u00a0 Also some ‘Geneva Long’,\u00a0 ‘Prok’, and ‘Morris Burton’. The persimmons for this seed were ripe when collected, and kept chilled. The seeds were then further rinsed, mixed with damp medium and kept refrigerated. $55\/pound. This does not include shipping.
\nMorris Burton seed \u2014\u00a0 <\/strong>The orange-red fruits are considered one of the best native persimmons with a honey-like flavor and few seeds.
\nProk seed<\/strong>(Sold out as of 2\/7\/26)<\/em>\u00a0 Largest fruit of any American persimmon, up to 3\u201d diameter. Very early ripening, excellent flavor\/fruit quality.
\nLehman’s Delight (100-46) seed<\/strong> \u2014 <\/strong>Not available <\/em>Fruit size nearly as large as Prok, thick-skinned, late-ripening, excellent flavor.
